Description
In the US, it varies state by state. But, in mine, which I think is pretty typical: At 16, you can get a learner’s permit by getting a physical exam, passing a multiple choice test, and providing identity documentation. That allows you to drive with an adult who’s a licensed driver. After 6 months, you can take the driver’s test, and passing that gets you a license. There’s some minimum number of hours you’re supposed to have driven, but it’s entirely honor system. They didn’t even look at my logs.
