In Australia at 16 you do a written test about road rules and if you score above 70% you become a “learner” and have to put yellow L plates on the car whenever you drive + be accompanied by another fully licensed driver. Then you need to get 100hrs day driving and 20hrs night so when your 18+ you can take the drivers test (hrs and test need to be done within 3 years).
